Hey, Mr. Librarian! What’s happening to the Aspen Hill Library?
As the incoming branch manager at Aspen Hill, effective January 22, 2017, I wish to convey my sincere greetings to the Aspen Hill community and to say that I am looking forward to working with you. My name is Kenneth Lewis, and I also respond to being called Ken. Again, “Greetings!” to all. Hopefully I will have the wonderful opportunity to meet each of you when the refresh activity is completed and the library is reopened to the public.
Continuing where the Aspen Hill blog has left off regarding the refresh activity, … “What is happening at the Aspen Hill branch?”
Some interior painting has been done, and carpeting within the library is presently underway in both the children’s area, and in the area which abuts the front entrance. Exciting colors have been chosen for both areas so that our customers can truly experience that “refreshed” feeling.
Gradually taking shape are the individual study/collaboration rooms which will provide our customers with an enclosed space in which to work with another individual or to do work on their own. These will be available to our customers via online booking. Information pertaining to these can be found on our Meeting Rooms and Collaboration Rooms page. Our information staff stands ready to share these details with you when we are open. Of course, the Aspen Hill library will be on the collaboration room list once we reopen!
The public bathrooms at the branch are also being upgraded. As the refresh continues I will communicate details on the various stages.
The staff and I at the Aspen Hill branch are looking forward to the completion of the refresh activity and to the opportunity to share the refreshed branch with you. With the month of February being Library Lovers Month, please remember to fill out those post cards which are at the circulation and the information desks of the other libraries which you are using, to express how you feel about your libraries. Please attend and participate in those programs which are offered at other Montgomery County Public Libraries to celebrate Library Lovers month.
Keep following our blog, … more to come!
